The work of art I decided to update is the Portrait of a Halberdier by Jacopo Pontormo. I decided to update it to a hockey player holding his stick rather than a halberd. The model was my little brother and I positioned him in front of a black curtain. The light was positioned to the front left of the camera aimed at a 45 degree angle. The light was chest high, and focused on the subject’s face. The biggest difficulty I had was getting a 9 year old to stand still long enough. Another challenge was making a construction light more directional. I solved this by creating flaps that were attached to the side of the light.
